A play on words, of course! On a number of days each year we have been guests of Ruth Cave and family on their property at Riversdale. There are several walks of different grades with the tracks having been carved out of the bush by Ruth, daughter Bev Wilkinson and other members of their families. The bush itself is varied, from eucalyptus forest to rainforest and including hillsides of spectacular flowering orchids in spring. There are waterfalls and lovely creeks when we are not in drought.
Then there are the caves, when it is backpacks off and down into the crevice or cave and come out again somewhere. The caves and crevices are a lot of fun and on a recent walk in the school holidays some junior members of the group tummied into the lizard cave armed with torches. Most of us can't do that unfortunately (excuse! excuse!).
Last spring we visited when the orchids were in flower and I have never seen a display to equal it. It was breathtaking. The generosity of the Cave family is not taken for granted. It is very much appreciated by the bushwalkers and I'm taking this opportunity to say a big "THANK YOU".
